"After leaving refuge, survivors of domestic violence often have to rebuild their lives from the ground up. They have many practical needs for which there aren’t services or simple options available. Shine are really pleased to see Woven Earth providing practical individual support at this critical time. Such support can make an enormous difference to women and children in need giving them the chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and stay safe. It means so much to women and children going through a distressing time to know that others care about them enough to want to make their lives easier. We look forward to offering Woven Earth’s much needed services to our clients."
Jane Drumm, Shine General Manager
We are always in need of good quality household items including furniture, electronic goods, cleaning products, personal care products, linen and non perishable pantry items. In addition to these we welcome toys, books, sporting goods, baby items and many more of the essential belongings that families rely on.
Please contact us if you think you have items that can support our mission.
We rely on donations of all kinds and welcome one off or regular donations to help us have a positive impact on the brave families who are rebuilding their lives.
All donations over $5 are eligible for a New Zealand charitable giving tax credit. Email us for a donations receipt.
Without the power of a committed and reliable volunteer force working with us we could not achieve our mission. Please contact us to talk about the volunteer roles we have available. We are seeking pantry coordinators, linen coordinators, a driver and some lifting power for furniture deliveries and home decor coordinators plus many more as the needs arise. We are a community of hard working passionate people and would love to have you join our Woven Earth community. Call us or email us today to see how you can help us weave some magic for these survivors.
The corporate and business community of New Zealand is a powerful force helping causes that affect our communities. A recent move for businesses to offer ten days paid leave for people affected by family violence is a great step. We are seeking sponsorship from businesses who want to invest in the practical application of helping victims rebuild their lives with dignity. We have many creative sponsorship opportunities available. Call or email us today.
If you are looking for a worthy cause to be the recipient of a fundraising event or would like to organise donations of items to help please talk to us about how we can support you to raise much needed funds
and practical items.
